The Little Index of Little Actions (L.I.L.A.)

You feel the itch to start acting now? You want a better world for water? You want to start, why not, today? Here's a little index of little actions you can start to do right now, this very same day. You can invite your friends to follow you and put them to the challenge. What will you do today? Small steps are a start, and here's a few ideas:

01

Ditch single-use water bottles. Get a reusable one!

To fight against privatisation of water resources, avoid waste for production of single-use water bottles and reduce plastic pollution in our environment and waterways, its only a question of habits: think to bring your reusable water bottle everywhere, just like it would be your phone or wallet. Read 5 reasons to make the switch!

02

Stay away from plastic microbeads (facewash, toothpaste)

Did you know that you might clean your face and teeth with tiny plastic beads? Most of facewashes and toothpaste have plastic microbeads in them. Watch out for Polyethylene (PE), or Polypropylene (PP) in the ingredients list! The worst part of it, they are so small, they inevitably end up in our waterways. They also have the chemical power to attach other toxics chemicals, which would cause health problems when they enter foodchain as small animals can't avoid eating them! Check what you buy and use Beat the Bead's useful app!

03

Beware of packaging water-footprint

Just like empty single-use water bottles are a waste of energy, hydrocarbons and water, and pollute needlessly our environment, excess of plastic packaging (on our food, but also others things like toys) are just as wasteful. Don't forget to bring a cloth bag when shopping and don't by shy to refuse excessive packaging. Why not google a shop near you that allow to buy in bulk ?
