NAYPW represents young people across North America. It started as an idea of three young representatives, in 2012, after the World Youth Parliament for Water 2nd General Assembly in Marseille, France.

Today, five regional representatives (three from Canada, one from the United States and one from Mexico) are working as a team, with the help of coordinators, building and sharing the initiative of a North American Youth Parliament for Water.

Elected Representatives (2)

Elected Representatives are delegates who took part in the election process during the WYPW elections and commit to pursue and improve NAYPW activities for the next years. North American delegates voted in favor of two North American representatives, preferably respecting gender equality. At the 3rd General Assembly of the WYPW in May 2015, two representatives were elected : M. Alfredo de Santiago Parra and Ms. Anne-Sophie Ste-Marie.

Delegates are active members (ambassadors or members) selected

during NAYPW Gatherings. They must represent the NAYPW at the General Assembly of the WYPW. At the 1st North American Gathering in April 2014, five delegates were selected to go to the 3rd GA of the WYPW in South Korea. The next GA of WYPW is in Brasilia, Brazil, in 2017.

Ambassadors are selected through the members during the Ambassador Program recruting period. They act as a liaison between the members and the NAYPW coordinators, providing support and promoting NAYPW through representation in water-related events and by reaching out for new members.

Members have been through the toolbox application process and proven either actively participating in a water project or being in the process of implementing one. Age 18-30.
